Allison started her nursing career at NMSU and is excited to be “home!" Allison's nursing career has included caring for all ages and in various nursing specialties; however, her primary focus as an advance practice provider has been in the field of pediatrics- both primary care and emergency medicine. Allison’s interest in academia have been largely developed through her most recent role leading and educating advanced practice providers, registered nurses, and other health professionals at a large Magnet hospital in St. Louis, Missouri. Through her work, her clinic was able to develop and provide robust clinical orientations and education sessions focusing on evidenced based practice and professionalism which helped it become one of the leading pediatric providers in the area. She has held formal nursing leadership roles and is passionate about standards of care and healthcare collaboration. She also enjoys family and community education and has spent time working with local TV stations to provide public education in “Ask the Expert” segments.
