Professor Yglecias completed her Master’s Degree in Nursing Education with Walden University in 2021 with Honors. She has practiced Medical Surgical, Neuro, ICU, Women’s Oncology, Perioperative, and Gastrointestinal Nursing since 2007. She received The DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurse Educators in June 2023. She was a nominee for the Nurse of the Year Award at the Hospitals of Providence (THOP) Sierra Campus in El Paso. Professor Yglecias has participated in Nurse Governance Councils, Patient Experience Councils, and Precepting new nurses at Las Palmas, THOP Sierra Campus, and Del Sol in El Paso over her career. She was chosen by Southwest University’s Excellence Recognition Program in 2022 for exemplary reviews from students in their RN program. Professor Yglecias’ specialty is Gastrointestinal and Pulmonary nursing, and she continues to practice in her specialty currently. She is currently pursuing her PhD in Nursing Education. Professor Yglecias has participated as a Quality Improvement Nurse over the years and continues to share knowledge on safety and high-quality bedside nursing.
