Professor Parsons is a Texas native, born and raised in El Paso, TX. She has been a nurse for 7 years, focusing on in-patient pediatric care and nursing leadership. She practiced at El Paso Children's Hospital and has held a variety of roles there including preceptor, charge nurse, Nursing Supervisor/Coordinator, and Director of Nursing. She was awarded in 2019 as El Paso Children's Hospitals' Emerging Leader. She completed her Master's Degree in Nursing Education with the University of Phoenix in 2020. She has participated in a variety of committees surrounding patient safety including Hospital Quality & Patient Safety, Patient Outcomes Taskforce and Quality Safety Review Team.
